The Fischerbogen , also called Theodor Fischer Arch , is an architectural form of the arch that was  invented by the German architect Theodor Fischer (1862-1938) and named after him.

description

Although Fischer's works often show his preference for traditionally simple shapes, he also invented unconventional and subtle new designs himself. The fisherman's arch named after him is one of his innovations in shape . The art historian Marc Hirschfell describes this in his review of the photo book Theodor Fischer published in 2018 . Architecture of the Stuttgart years as follows:

"It is a rising and falling waveform that can hardly be described in words: a convex quarter curve, followed by the rising concave curve, culminates in a convex semicircle or a rather flattened curve segment, and then descends again in reverse order."

- Marc Hirschfell :

In the sacred buildings built according to Fischer's plans between 1906 and 1910, the Pauluskirche in Ulm and the Erlöserkirche in Stuttgart-Nord , numerous fisherman's arches of different sizes and designs can be found. He used them as ties or as a closure for doors and windows. He also closed the windows on the 2nd floor of the Heusteigschule in Stuttgart-Süd with fishing arches.
