The village of Fischingen is a district of Sulz am Neckar in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg , Germany .

history

It was first mentioned in 772 as "Fiscina".

In 1005 it was mentioned that King Heinrich II gave the Stein am Rhein monastery "Phisgina cum fonte salis" (Fischingen with salt springs). It is unclear whether this related to its own salt spring or a share in the Sulz saltworks .

The spelling "Fischinun" was common until the 15th century. The place belonged to the Principality of Hohenzollern , most recently the province of Prussia ( Hohenzollern Land ). It therefore belonged to the former Hechingen district of Hechingen until the beginning of 1972 . When it was incorporated into the town of Sulz am Neckar, Fischingen belonged to the former district of Horb for a short time (from March 1, 1972 to December 31, 1972) . With effect from January 1, 1973 Sulz and its districts were added to the Rottweil district.

The ruins of Wehrstein Castle are on the hill above the village.

traffic

Fischingen is on the Gäubahn (Stuttgart – Singen) , but is currently not a stopping point for passenger traffic. The federal highway 81 can be reached via the junction Empfingen. The former federal highway 14 (now L424) divides the place into two parts.

Infrastructure

On the "education island" between the Neckar and the Mühlkanal, the formerly independent community has built a school building and a gymnasium and festival hall. The inauguration was in 1969. The kindergarten was also inaugurated in 1988 on the "Education Island".

The local administration is housed in the town hall. The citizens of Fischingen can carry out various administrative tasks during office hours.
