The Fishtail Point ( English for fishtail headland ) is a headland on the Hillary coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It represents the southern end of the Shults Peninsula on the east side of the estuary of the Skelton Glacier in the Ross Ice Shelf .
The New Zealand group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) explored and named the headland in 1957.
