Fix and fax

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fix and Fax is a comic from the GDR . In 1958, the two mice created by Jürgen Kieser appeared for the first time in the monthly comic magazine Atze . The likely model is a picture story drawn by Fritz Koch-Gotha in the 1930s with two mice named Fix and Fax as the main heroes. However, Jürgen Kieser is not known to have committed himself to this influence.

The rhyme captions were a special feature . By 1987, 350 episodes created by Jürgen Kieser had appeared. From 1987 to 1990, at Kieser's request, the draftsman Eugen Gliege took over the work for 45 further episodes. The verses for this come from Hartmut Seefeld . With issue 11/1990 (episode 399) Fix and Fax were finally discontinued.

In the 1960s the first three anthologies were published , each with 28 to 32 stories. The anthology "Der Wunschring" followed later.

In 1969 a puppet cartoon was produced by DEFA. A pilot film for an animated series with the title Adventure with Fix and Fax - The Flying Present was released in 1999. The project was not continued.

Some time after the reunification and the associated end of “Atze”, the new publisher of the magazine Mosaik , the Mosaik Steinchen für Steinchen Verlag , published a reprint edition of the 350 Kieser episodes in 25 volumes in a limited edition of 3,000. A softcover edition of the comics started on the occasion of Jürgen Kieser's 85th birthday in 2006.
