Fjärskären

Fjärskären is a small uninhabited archipelago belonging to Sweden in the Kattegat west of Gothenburg in the province of Västra Götalands län .

It is part of the southern Gothenburg archipelago and belongs to the municipality of Gothenburg . A little further to the west are the islands of Rågbåden , Koholmen and Vinga , to the east of Smörslagan . The Fjärskären includes around 30 tiny islands made up of rocky cliffs, which are spread over an area of ​​700 by 300 meters. The largest single island is located on the eastern edge of the archipelago. In east-west direction their maximum extension is about 300 meters, in north-south direction 100 meters.

Immediately north of Fjärskären, in the sea, is a monument designated by the Swedish National Monument Protection Agency, Riksantikvarieämbetet .

The ferry routes Göteborg– Kiel and Göteborg– Frederikshavn pass east of Fjärskären .
