Fyodor Vladimirovich Chorochordin (in Germany also known as Fedor Khorokhordin) ( Russian Фёдор Владимирович Хорохордин ; born November 2, 1953 in Moscow ) is a Russian diplomat in the rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy and was Consul General in Bonn from July 2006 to June 2010 . Chorochordin is currently the representative of the Free State of Bavaria in the Russian Federation and heads the Bavarian office in Moscow.

Life

Chorochordin studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and entered the diplomatic service immediately after completing his law degree. In 1976, at the age of 23, he was transferred to the Soviet embassy in the GDR in Berlin . In the 1980s the diplomat worked at the embassy in Bonn until 1988.

Other stations in his diplomatic career were the Russian embassy in Vienna from 1991 to 1996, the consulate general in Hamburg and the embassy in Berlin from 1998 to 2002, where he was head of the consular department. From 2002 to 2006 he was deputy head of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he campaigned, among other things, for the German-Russian agreement on travel facilitation.

In June 2006 he was appointed Consul General of the Russian Federation in Bonn . After four years of activity, he finished his work in June 2010 in an administrative district that comprised three federal states and took over the new role of representative of the Free State of Bavaria in the Russian Federation on September 1, 2010.

Chorochordin is married and has two sons.
