from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St. Anna Kapelle is a wine location in the area of the city of Flörsheim am Main . It belongs to the large Daubhaus site in the Rheingau wine-growing region .

Namesake

The eponymous St. Anna Chapel (2010).

The namesake of the single vineyard is the chapel of the same name and dedicated to St. Anna , which rises above the vineyard. It was built in 1715 as a simple 3 × 3 meter building. As a house chapel, the chapel belongs to the meadow mill, which was built in 1699 from quarry stones and half-timbered houses and is located down the slope. This was also called the Bischofsmühle because of its former owner, the Mainz auxiliary bishop Johann Edmund Gedult von Jungsfeld , and was used as a mill until after the First World War .

Vineyard

With 0.5 hectares of vineyards, the smallest individual vineyard in the Rheingau covers the steeply westward sloping terrain between the Wiesenmühle located on the Wickerbach and the St. Anna Chapel. The soil consists of limestone with gravelly components of the main terraces. The wines are characterized by mineral and pronounced, fruity-classy acidity. The vineyard is owned by the Wiesenmühle inn. From there, he pours the Riesling and Rivaner grape varieties from his own cultivation .
