Official flag of Skåne, not used as much as the semi-official cross flag.

The cross flag Scania ( Danish and Swedish : Skane ) combined constituents of Danish and Swedish flag. The red background is taken from the Danish flag and indicates the Danish tradition and history of the area. The golden cross comes from the Swedish flag and indicates affiliation and relationships with Sweden. The flag was designed in 1902 by the Scandinavian historian Martin Weibull . The flag has been used by the Skåne Region since February 1999 and can be considered semi-official.

The flag is also known as the Skåneland flag to be used in Blekinge and Halland as well. Flag day is the third Sunday in July.

The official flag of Schonens is actually a flag with the red head of a griffin .
