The flag tetra ( Hemigrammus ulreyi ), also known as Ulreys tetra , is a freshwater fish found in central Brazil (Mato Grosso) and in the Río Paraguay . The species was named after Albert B. Ulrey, an American zoologist .

features

It becomes 4.5 to 5 cm tall. Its body is typical of the genus, but slightly higher back than other species of the genus and laterally flattened. Its back color is gray to brown-green, flanks and belly are almost colorless and only have a light silver-yellow sheen. A longitudinal ligament, which is golden to metallic green at the top and black at the bottom, extends from the gill cover to the tail fin stalk . A black line extends along the base of the anal fin . The front of the anal fin is lined with white in the male. The first ray of the dorsal fin is black below, the following yellowish to orange. The fins are transparent, the adipose fin orange.
