The Flagstaff Point is the headland at the southern end of the Cape Royds on the west side of the Antarctic Ross Island . It marks the northwest boundary of the entrance to Arrival Bay .
Participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton mapped them. Shackleton named it after the flagpole ( English flagstaff ), they had here far from base camp of the expedition Built.
