Flaming stars
Flammende Sterne is a fireworks festival that has been held at several locations in Germany since 2003 .
Originally this fireworks festival only took place in one place, in the Scharnhauser Park district in Ostfildern , with several fireworks and a supporting program. As early as 2002, there were several fireworks in Ostfildern as part of the Baden-Württemberg State Horticultural Show . From 2004 to 2015 this competition was also held in other locations. The festival takes place on two or three days between Friday and Sunday. Fireworks teams from different countries compete and at the end a professional jury selects the winner. In the early years, the jury consisted of experts, representatives of the sponsors and spectators. Depending on the weather, between 25,000 and 70,000 spectators visit the Flaming Stars every weekend. In 2011 the event site was completely filled with 30,000 people for the first time since 2003.
In Ostfildern, unlike other large fireworks, such as the Rhine in Flames or the Konstanzer Seenachtfest , there is no charming environment available, but meadows as a backdrop. On the one hand, this offers artistic design options. On the other hand, it also requires a high level of craftsmanship.
