The Flanagan River is a 180 km long tributary of Sandy Lake in the Kenora District in the western Canadian province of Ontario .

The Flanagan River drains the small Correll Lake . The headwaters are located at an altitude of 380  m, 105 km south of the village of Sandy Lake . The Flanagan River initially flows 85 km in a predominantly northeastern direction through the lake-rich landscape of the Canadian Shield . It shows numerous lake-like broadening of the river. Below North Spirit Lake , the Flanagan River turns west, later north-north-east, and finally north-west. The Flanagan River flows into Rathouse Bay , a junction in the southwest of the highly indented Sandy Lake. This is traversed by the Severn River . The main tributary of the Flanagan River is Harling Creek from the right. At the level below North Spirit Lake, the mean discharge is 18.3 m³ / s.
