Flavian Graber (born January 23, 1985 in Basel ; full name Flavian Theodor Eduard Graber ) is a Swiss singer and songwriter from Liestal .

biography

Flavian's musical roots lie in his Liestal band Megalomania , with which he has been the front man since 2001 ; however, since 2007 he began to write songs for his solo project. In autumn 2008 he recorded his 5-track debut EP at the Alterna Recording Studios in Basel with Thomas Rechenberger (guitarist of the Lovebugs ) and Philip Laffer, which he christened and released in March 2009 on the ferry in Basel. His Coffee Poetry Tour from February to April 2009 took him to small clubs and cafés in Switzerland and Germany with his atmospheric music .

In the late summer of 2010, Flavian and other musicians founded the music collective We Invented Paris , which played 80 performances across Europe within six months. In addition to appearances on BalconyTV and the Berlin Sessions, the band played an appearance on the most famous German Internet music show TV Noir .

successes

Despite his young solo career, Flavian has already met with great media coverage , especially in the Basel region, with his debut record and his often unusual concerts . The artist works independently and sells his CDs himself, but his song "Get Well" was on Radio DRS Virus Mx3 -Song of the Week in April 2009. Flavian also performed in the renowned Frankfurt reading music room together with the young Swiss author Lorenz Langenegger . His concert at the Basel club festival BScene was commented on by the press: "That much is clear: here someone is well on the way to making the big breakthrough."

Since the end of 2008 Flavian has been working with producer Bruce Klöti , who also acts as the second guitarist for the live performances. Flavian often travels alone with a guitar and loop station , but he is accompanied by his band at some concerts. These include: Ex-Aiph bassist Andy Bäumler , Karin Schneider with vocals, and the-Air Collective drummer Luzian Graber , the latter also recorded for the Coffee Poetry EP . The artist Simon Siegenthaler , who painted pictures live during the concerts, also accompanied him on the Coffe Poetry Tour .
