The Fleischhöhle , also called Fleischlochhöhle , is a natural karst cave near Plech in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth in Bavaria .
Geographical location
The cave is located about 1000 meters east of Plech on a rocky slope.
description
The shaft entrance , about two meters wide and three meters deep , was artificially expanded by blasting. The total length of the cave is about 60 meters and is only normally accessible in the entrance area. It is heavily blocked and narrows to a low silt . There are no stalactites and sintered jewelry worth mentioning . A Befahrung is not recommended for beginners. In the cave cadastre Fränkische Alb (HFA) it is designated with the cadastral number D 37 and by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment as a natural monument .
history
The cave owes its name to a meat thief who was up to mischief in this area before the First World War .
