Fleuve éditions , until 2013 Fleuve noir , is a French publisher with a program focus on popular novels.

Companies

The publishing house was founded in 1949 by Armand de Caro, André de Caro, Robert Bonhomme and Guy Krill. As an imprint publisher, it is now part of the Univers Poche media group . Their publishing director is (as of October 2015) Céline Thoulouze.

Since 1949 the publisher has sold around 50 million book copies; an average of 60 titles appeared annually (as of 2013). The highest editions were achieved in 2013 by À quelques secondes près by Harlan Coben with 190,000 copies, Et soudain tout change by Gilles Legardinier with 130,000 copies, Puzzle by Franck Thilliez with 120,000 copies and Vengeance en Prada by Lauren Weisberger with 100,000 copies.

The ISBN-Verlag number of Fleuve éditions is 265; this results in the ISBN 13 number range 978-2-265-NNNNN-Z for his publications.

Well-known titles in France include La Compagnie des glaces by Georges-Jean Arnaud and the first volumes of the San Antonio series , as well as Blonde Attitude by Plum Sykes and Le Diable s'habille en Prada , the French edition of The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger . Well-known authors are or were Harlan Coben , Brice Pelman , Maurice Limat and until 2004 Ayerdhal .

The program series Anticipation

Fleuve noir founded the Anticipation program series in September 1951, in response to the recently published series Le Rayon fantastique by Hachette livre . Anticipation followed more of a popular literary approach than the Hachette model.

In 2004, the California publisher Hollywood Comics reissued the series. Under the direction of Jean-Marc Lofficier and his wife Randy, the series is published in French under the Rivière Blanche brand . Hollywood Comics had previously published French crime novels and French science fiction in English for the Black Coat Press brand .
