Lauren Weisberger (born March 28, 1977 in Scranton , Pennsylvania ) is an American author.

When her parents separated, Lauren Weisberger was eleven years old. She moved to Allentown , Pennsylvania with her mother and sister Dana . Nearby, she attended Parkland High School, where she graduated in 1995.

After studying at Cornell University in Ithaca / New York , she was employed as assistant to the editor-in-chief of the US edition of Vogue Anna Wintour . Her first work The Devil Wears Prada , which she published in 2003 under the name The Devil Wears Prada with Broadway Books , is about her experiences there . In Germany the book was published by Goldmann Verlag . The Devil Wears Prada was made into a film in 2006 with Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in the leading roles. In 2006 Weisberger's second novel Die Party-Queen von Manhattan was published , which also deals with the life of the New York upper class.

Lauren Weisberger currently lives in New York City with her husband and two children .
