Colonno is a village with 499 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Como in the Lombardy region .

geography

The municipality is located on Lake Como between Sala Comacina and Argegno .

The neighboring municipalities are Argegno , Laino , Dizzasco , Lezzeno , Tremezzina , Pigra , Ponna and Sala Comacina .

history

In 1240, the captain of Como Berthold von Hohenburg published the municipal code that divided and assigned the Como area, divided into pievi , to four districts called Porte . The Pieve d'Isola is assigned to the Porta Sala district. During this period Colonno and Sala were required to supply the Como market with £ 20 fish every Tuesday and £ 40 every Saturday.

In 1335 Como with its landscape was occupied by Duke Azzo Visconti of Milan , who passed new statutes in the same year. In these the commune de Collono is mentioned, which is included in the Pieve d'Isola together with Sala, Ossuccio and Lezzeno . The Articles of Association state that Colonno and Sala are responsible for maintaining the road that goes from the Colonno bridge to the Premonte valley. Colonno thus followed the fate of the Duchy of Milan .
