Centro Valle Intelvi is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 3598 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como ( Lombardy region ).

geography

The community is located in Val d'Intelvi about 17 kilometers north of Como in Como Alps on the border with Switzerland Ticino .

The neighboring communities are Schignano , Alta Valle Intelvi , Laino , Blessagno , Cerano d'Intelvi , Dizzasco and Breggia ( CH - TI ) and Rovio (CH-TI) in the canton of Ticino .

The municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi is in the San Fedele Intelvi fraction .

history

The municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi was created on January 1, 2018 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Casasco d'Intelvi , Castiglione d'Intelvi and San Fedele Intelvi. After the referendum on October 22, 2017, in which there was an approval of around 72 percent for the merger, this was passed with Regional Law No. 30 of December 11, 2017.
