Torno is a municipality on Lake Como with 1150 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy .

The neighboring municipalities: Blevio , Carate Urio , Como , Faggeto Lario , Moltrasio and Tavernerio .

About 15 kilometers from Como, cloth merchants and silk weavers lived here for centuries. Today the residents work in nearby Como or the metropolis of Milan . Well-known names from Torno are Grasselli, Maggi, Sala, Ruspini and others who emigrated all over the world in the nineteenth century. A nearby Etruscan settlement and the Villa Pliniana are places worth seeing.
