Ronago municipality in the province of Como

Ronago is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1715 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy . The municipality belongs to the Unione di comuni lombarda Terre di Frontiera .

geography

The municipality is located directly on the Swiss border about 8 km northwest of Como . The village extends over the eastern slope of the 535  m slm high Monte Prato , while the eastern border with Switzerland on the Faloppia river is only around 250  m slm .

Ronago is divided into a total of 4 fractions (Italian frazioni ): Fornace , Galletto , Lampona and Ronco .

The neighboring communities are: Uggiate-Trevano , Novazzano , Chiasso (both CH) and Colverde .
