Solbiate con Cagno is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 4721 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 12 kilometers west-southwest of Como and about 8.5 kilometers east-southeast of Varese .

history

On January 1, 2019, the community was formed from the current fractions of Solbiate and Cagno . The administrative headquarters are in Solbiate.

The municipality belongs to the Parco Valle del Lanza .

traffic

The former Strada Statale 342 Briantea (today: Provincial Road) runs through the municipality from Bergamo to Varese . The station on the former Como – Varese – Laveno line was closed in 1966 with the section between Malnate and Grandate .
