Carlazzo ( Carlasc in the Como dialect) is a northern Italian municipality in the province of Como in Lombardy in Italy .
geography
Carlazzo is located at the foot of the Monte Pidaggia mountain ( 1528 m ) about 60 kilometers north of Milan and about 44 kilometers north of Como . It covers an area of 12 km² and includes the districts Gottro, Piano Porlezza and San Pietro Sovera. The Lago di Piano is located in the municipality.
Carlazzo borders the following municipalities: Bene Lario , Corrido , Cusino , Grandola ed Uniti , Porlezza , San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna , San Nazzaro Val Cavargna , Val Rezzo .

Personalities
- Giacomo Bassi (born March 18, 1886 in Gottro; † 1968), an Italian civil servant. He was honored as Righteous Among the Nations for saving a Jewish family of five during World War II .
