Lurate Caccivio is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9880 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy .

geography

The municipality is located about 8 kilometers southwest of Como , about 14 kilometers east-southeast of Varese and about 35 kilometers northwest of Milan . This includes the fractions: Lurate, Caccivio, Castello, Monte Sinai. Neighboring municipalities are: Appiano Gentile, Beregazzo con Figliaro, Bulgarograsso, Gironico, Olgiate Comasco, Oltrona di San Mamette, Villa Guardia.

Since December 2010, the municipality has had the title of Città (city) by presidential decree .

Community partnerships

Lurate Caccivio has two intra-Italian partnerships with the municipalities of Cerchiara di Calabria in the province of Cosenza and Fusine in the province of Sondrio .
