Culture and sights

  • The parish church of San Clemente is decorated in baroque style. It was consecrated as a parish church by Carlo Borromeo and dates from 1580–1584. The building is reported as dating from the twelfth century and houses the tomb of Count Carlo Imbonati, former liege lord of Alserio

The villa includes the luxurious house from 1844 to 1845, an annex, the porter's lodge, the stables and the Santa Maira della Neve chapel . The garden of the villa is protected by the superintendent. The land in which the villa is located belonged to the Ospedale Maggiore of Milan; Carlo Imbonati bought it in 1456; In 1844, Baron Giuseppe Patroni followed the Imbonati and he built the villa for the architect Luigi Chierichetti, who recalls simplifying a 17th century Tudor house with eclectic decorations, neo-Gothic, neo-Baroque and arabesques.
