Local structure

Monguzzo can be divided into three inhabited areas:

  • Monguzzo, which is located on the hill with the feudal castle
  • Nobile, which lies at the foot of the hill in the eastern part of the municipality; Nobile was once famous for the peach tree in the province of Monza and Brianza : the inhabitants of Nobile were called Persegatt ("peach producers") in dialect .
  • Poggio Cavolto, a residential area developed in the 1970s, located on the southern slope of the hill, on the border with the municipality of Lurago d'Erba .

Attractions

There are two churches in the municipality,

  • the SS. Biagio e Sebastiano parish church (1878) in via Chiesa and
  • the Sanctuary of Madonna di Lourdes (13th century) in via Santuario, both churches have recently been restored
  • numerous renovated farms ("cascines") around which small inhabited areas were built. The Cascine Solferino , Bindella , Enrichetta , Nuova and Bassetto deserve special mention.
