Uggiate-Trevano is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4940 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy .

geography

The municipality is located about 10 kilometers west-northwest of Como directly on the border with Switzerland and includes the fractions Canova , Romazzana , Trevano and Mulini . The Lura rises in the municipality , the eastern municipal boundary is the Faloppia . The neighboring communities are: Albiolo , Bizzarone , Colverde , Faloppio , Novazzano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland, Ronago and Valmorea .

748 and 852 the villages Uggiate (as Oglate ) and Trevano (as Trebano ) are first mentioned in a document. The Romanesque apse of the Church of San Michele in Trevano also testifies to the age of the community.
