history

Until the 17th century

Adelsdorf was first mentioned in a document in the Bamberg festival calendar as a gift from Cathedral Provost Egilbert in 1121. The place name suggests that the settlement was under the leadership of an Otloh (1121 Otlohesdorf, 1369 Otelsdorf, 1460 Adelsdorff). The lords of Otlohesdorf built up a stately territory in the Aisch- and Ebrachgrund through clearing, building castles and a clever acquisition policy and named themselves after the castle they had built in Schlüsselberg near Ebermannstadt since 1219 . In 1347 the last Schlüsselberger fell on his Neideck castle .

A frequent change of ownership marked the history in the following century. After the lords of Wiesenthau , von Künsberg , von Stiebar and the Schönborns Adelsdorf owned it for a short time, it was bought by von Bibra in 1696 , in whose hands it remained for centuries.

At the end of the 18th century there were 133 properties in Adelsdorf. The high court exercised the aristocratic neck court of the barons of Bibra. The manor Adelsdorf held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the manor Adelsdorf (castle, rectory, school house, 2 half fron yards, 2 half yards, 2 estates, 3 estates, 16 Sölden , 12 drip houses , 47 houses, 16 half houses, 1 smithy), the Pommersfelden lordship (10 estates, 4 Houses), the Rittergut Buch (3 estates, 3 drip houses, Jewish school), the Rittergut Neuhaus (1 Freiwirtshaus, 1 Gut, 1 Gütlein, 3 houses), the Rittergut Wilhermsdorf (3 drip houses), the Nuremberg State Almosenamt- Vogtei Lonnerstadt (1 Gut ), the Bamberg cathedral chapter, Erboblei Adelsdorf (1 estate), the Adelsdorf tax office (2 Sölden, 1 drip house), the Adelsdorf parish (2 estates).

In 1806 Adelsdorf came to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district Adelsdorf was formed in 1808 , to which Aisch and Nainsdorf belonged. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities were formed:

  • Adelsdorf;
  • Aisch with Nainsdorf.

The administration and jurisdiction of the municipality of Adelsdorf was subordinate to the district court of Höchstadt and of the financial administration to the tax office of Höchstadt . In voluntary jurisdiction, 91 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Adelsdorf (until 1841), 15 properties to the PG Pommersfelden (until 1848), 8 properties to the PG Buch (until 1848), 6 properties to the PG Neuhaus (until 1848) and 3 properties the PG Wilhermsdorf (until 1817). From 1862 Adelsdorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rentamt Höchstadt (1920–1929: Finanzamt Höchstadt , from 1929: Finanzamt Forchheim ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Höchstadt , from 1959 district court of Forchheim . The community originally had an area of 5.406 km².

District and district affiliation

Since July 1, 1972, Adelsdorf has belonged to the newly formed district of Erlangen-Höchstadt (previously the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch) and thus to the administrative district of Middle Franconia.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1971, the previously independent communities Aisch and Heppstädt were incorporated. Neuhaus was added on January 1, 1972. Weppersdorf (previously in the Forchheim district ) followed on July 1, 1972.

badges and flags

The municipality of Adelsdorf has had a coat of arms since 1967.

Coat of arms of Adelsdorf
Blazon : “Above a blue base of a shield , inside a horizontal silver carp, split by red and gold; in front a slanted silver key , behind a soaring black beaver with a red tongue and a silver scaled tail. "

Red-white-black municipal flag

Justification of the coat of arms: The key is taken from the coat of arms of the Lords of Schluesselberg and indicates that this noble family held the Adelsdorf manor until 1347. In 1696 the lords of Bibra acquired Adelsdorf and stayed there until the beginning of the 19th century. They carried the beaver coat of arms representing the name. The carp symbolizes the location of the community in the Aischgrund and at the same time represents the carp farming there.
