In the 13th century the place was referred to as "Wigberhtsdorf", "Wigbrehtsdorf", "Wiepdrehisdorf" and "Wipendetisdorf" (13th century), in the 14th century as "Wiepdrehesdorf" and in the 15th and 16th centuries as " Weiprechtstorff ".

At the end of the 18th century there were 28 properties in Weppersdorf. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center forchheim . The Bamberg caste office in Schlüsselau took over the village and community rulership . The landlords were the bishopric of Bamberg (Kastenamt Schluesselau: 1 mill, 4 half-yards, 3 estates, 9 Sölden , 1 house; Bamberg cathedral chapter: 1 estate, 2 Sölden), the Brandenburg-Bayreuth box office Baiersdorf (1 house), the Nuremberg state alms office (1st floor) Gülthof), the Schönborn rule of Pommersfelden (2 houses), the parish of Adelsdorf (1 estate). In the same year the rural community Weppersdorf was formed, to which the run belonged. With the second community edict (1818), Haid was transferred to the Willersdorf tax district , while Wiesendorf was incorporated into the rural community of Weppersdorf. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court Forchheim and the financial administration of the Forchheim Rent Office (from 1920: Forchheim tax office ). From 1862 Weppersdorf was administered by the Forchheim District Office (renamed the Forchheim District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Forchheim until 1879, 1880-1959 district court Forchheim , from 1959 district court Forchheim. The municipality had an area of 9.176 km².
