geography

The Klinggraben (called Reutgraben in the lower reaches) flows through the village , which feeds the Wiesendorfer Weiher northwest and flows into the Aisch at Adelsdorf as a right tributary . In the south is the light wood , in the southeast the thorn bush , in the east the shoulder wood . The individual parcels form a contiguous forest area. In the west, in the midst of arable and grassland, are the Heppstädter ponds, the old and new ponds and the large ponds. In the north there is also arable land and grassland. The hallway is called Gries . There is a campsite just east of the village.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1172 when Bishop Hermann II transferred a property in "Hovestete" to the Bamberg monastery of St. Theodor . Probably the place originally belonged to the Counts of Höchstadt , because the nuns of St. Theodor had another estate here as a gift from Gottfried von Höchstadt. Later the manorial village was severely fragmented.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 19 properties and a community shepherd's house in Heppstädt. To the west of the brook, the noble neck court Neuhaus of the barons of Crailsheim exercised the high court , east of the brook the central office of Höchstadt . The manor Neuhaus and the Forchheim office held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Amt Forchheim (3 estates), the Upper Castle Administration Hallerndorf (2 estates), the administration Röttenbach (2 estates), the Rittergut Adelsdorf (1 Viertelhof), the Rittergut Hemhofen (1 Sölde ), the Rittergut Neuhaus (5 estates), the dominion of Pommersfelden (1 estate), the parish of Adelsdorf (1 estate), the parish of Röttenbach (3 Sölden).

In 1810 Heppstädt came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the tax district and the rural community Neuhaus in 1811 . In 1818 the rural community of Heppstädt was formed. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and to the Erlangen Rent Office in financial management (from 1847: Herzogenaurach Rent Office ). In voluntary jurisdiction, 5 properties were subordinate to the Neuhaus Patrimonial Court from 1802 to 1848 , and 1 property to the Adelsdorf Patrimonial Court from 1807 to 1848. From 1862, Neuhaus was administered by the Höchstadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Höchstadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ) and from 1880 by the Höchstadt rent office (1920–1929: Höchstadt tax office , from 1929: Forchheim tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959: District Court of Höchstadt , from 1959: District Court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 2.818 km².

On July 1, 1971, Heppstädt was incorporated into Adelsdorf as part of the regional reform . The place became known beyond the immediate vicinity through the Kuckucksheim Theater founded in 1990 by Stefan Kügel .
