Neuhaus is a district of the Adelsdorf municipality in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Central Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The parish village is three kilometers south of Adelsdorf and 14 kilometers from Erlangen . It is a long street village with a moated castle . The place is located at the Neuhauser Mühlgraben, which feeds a chain of ponds and flows further north as a right tributary into the Staffelbach. There are also ponds in the west ( Kirchleitenteiche , Kirchenweiher , Steinweiher ). In the northwest lies the Galgenberg and the Buch forest . The Große Bodenleite corridor area borders in the northeast and the Neuhauser Wald in the east . Further north is the Ziegenanger corridor , which is a nature reserve .

history

Neuhaus originally consisted of the three places Schwabenberg, Grub and Neuhaus. The lower part with the castle finally gave the name for the whole village. Grub was first mentioned in a document in 1151. The castle was originally owned by the Dukes of Andechs-Meran . After their extinction, it came to the Lords of Truhendingen , who pledged it to King Wenzel in 1382 . This pledge was redeemed by the Bamberg Monastery . Around 1470 Neuhaus came to the Lords of Heßberg . In 1504, Sigismund von Hessberg had received from Maximilian I the exercise of high jurisdiction as an imperial fiefdom on his possessions. But this affected the authorities of the Bamberg bishops. In 1544 they agreed in a contract to take the castle and neck court from Bamberg as a fief. Charles V confirmed this contract, which was renewed the following year with the new lord of the castle, Wolf von Crailsheim . The Galgenberg between Neuhaus and Buch is still reminiscent of the former neck court.

At the end of the 18th century there were 64 properties in Neuhaus. The high court exercised the aristocratic neck court Neuhaus of the barons of Crailsheim. The manor Neuhaus ruled the village and community . The landlords were the Neuhaus manor (castle, 4 courtyards, barn, bathing room, 16 estates, 14 estates, 23 houses, brickworks, mill, brewery) and the Buch manor (1 estate).

In 1802 Neuhaus came to Bavaria . As part of the community edict, the tax district and the rural community Neuhaus were formed in 1811 , to which Heppstädt belonged. In 1818 Heppstädt formed its own rural community. The administration and jurisdiction of the Neuhaus municipality was subordinate to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and the Erlangen Rent Office for financial administration (from 1847: Herzogenaurach Rent Office ). In the voluntary jurisdiction and the local police, the entire place was subordinate to the Patrimonial Neuhaus (until 1848). From 1862, Neuhaus was administered by the Höchstadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Höchstadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ) and from 1880 by the Höchstadt rent office (1920–1929: Höchstadt tax office , from 1929: Forchheim tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959: District Court of Höchstadt , from 1959: District Court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 5.966 km².

On January 1, 1972, Neuhaus was incorporated into Adelsdorf as part of the regional reform .
