history

Buch was probably created in the course of the Würzburg colonization, which took place in this area in the 10th century, and was probably part of a gift from Emperor Heinrich II to the Michelsberg Monastery . In 1217 the place was first mentioned in a document as "beech". The monastery gave the Lords of Aisch a fiefdom, which also included Buch. In 1303 the ministerials of Nainsdorf were given the fiefdom as descendants of those of Aisch. From the middle of the 15th century to 1612, the von Seckendorff fiefs were fiefdoms , then the von Eyb inheritance , who finally sold it to Wolfgang Christoph Winkler von Mohrenfels in 1723 .

By the end of the 18th century there were 35 properties in book. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center of Höchstadt . In the area of the castle, the manor Buch had capture rights with delivery to the Centamt. The manor Buch ruled the village and community . The landlords were the Buch manor (2 economic goods, 20 goods, 10 drip houses , 1 Jewish school) and the Bamberg monastery office in Gremsdorf (3 Sölden ).

In 1802, the Bamberg estates came from Buch to Bavaria , and in 1806 that of the manor. As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Gremsdorf tax district formed in 1808 . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Buch was formed. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the regional court of Höchstadt and in financial administration to the Rent Office of Höchstadt . In the voluntary jurisdiction and local police, the entire place was subject to the Patrimonial Court of Buch until 1848 . From 1862 book was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rentamt Höchstadt (1920–1929: Finanzamt Höchstadt , from 1929: Finanzamt Forchheim ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Höchstadt , from 1959 district court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 4.030 km².
