history

Willersdorf St. Bartolomäus (exterior view)

Willersdorf was mentioned for the first time in 1362, but an earlier settlement is assumed. In the course of history, the place belonged to several feudal lords , the most wealthy being the Schlüsselau Monastery , which owned most of the houses on the lower Dorfstrasse. A municipal code is mentioned for 1450. In 1602 Willersdorf was raised to a parish. During the Thirty Years' War the village was devastated several times. Before the establishment of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1802, the place belonged to the office of Schlüsselau of the Bamberg monastery . Since 1818 Willersdorf formed an independent municipality with the district Haid . In 1972 it was incorporated into Hallerndorf as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

The size of the place hardly changed between 1400 and the beginning of settlement activity in the second half of the 20th century. From 1600 to 1971 there was a school of its own.
