The Mark is a municipality-free area in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt .

The 20.94 km² state forest is located north of Erlangen on the northern edge of the Dechsendorfer Weiher . Heßdorf and Röttenbach border in the west, Hemhofen , Heroldsbach and Hausen in the north, Baiersdorf and Möhrendorf in the east . The Fürstberg is the highest point at 370.5 m.
