history

In Codex Eberhardi , which was created in the 12th century, there is a regest of a document from the 9th century in which the place was mentioned as "Sebach". The Kleinseebach , ten kilometers further north, was first mentioned in 1007 as “Seuuaha”. Both place names are derived from the same name of the water body. The settlement appears to have originated from the Büchenbach royal court . This is also supported by the fact that the community was entitled to three lay judges' seats at the Büchenbach marriage court. The bishopric of Bamberg was the feudal lord . The Bamberg Dompropstei was the fiefdom holder. In 1441, ten Nürnberger Hintersassen in Großenseebach were listed as fiefdoms in the “Nuremberg Order in the Country” of the imperial city of Nuremberg . According to the land register of the Bamberg Cathedral Chapter of 1468 which consisted district Großenseebach of 15 hoof , which were spread over 22 mostly Nürnbergische owner. In the 16th century, most of the goods belonged to the Dompropstei and its provost office in Büchenbach. In 1580 the area consisted of 35 properties on 20 Huf land. There was also a forge, a shepherd's house, a forester's house and extensive forests. In the Thirty Years' War Großenseebach was destroyed. In 1730 there were again 22 goods with around 16 hooves.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 26 properties in Großenseebach (4 hubs , 4 courtyards, 2 half- hubs , 5 half-courtyards, 1 two-thirds courtyard, 2 thirds courtyards, 4 quarter courtyards, 1 quarter height, 3 small houses). The high court exercised the Bamberg cathedral provost office Büchenbach to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Bamberg center in Herzogenaurach . The Dompropsteiamt Büchenbach held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties.

With the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803, the place fell to Prussia and, after French occupation, came to Bavaria in 1810 . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Hannberg tax district formed in 1811 . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Großenseebach was formed. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and in financial administration to the Erlangen Rent Office . On October 1, 1847, the financial management was taken over by the Rentamt Herzogenaurach . From 1862 Großenseebach was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the rent office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen .

In 1857 27 farmers from Großenseebach and ten farmers from Reinersdorf acquired a forest area of 222 hectares from the Bavarian state for 3,000 florins and joined forces to form the Großenseebach-Reinersdorf forest cooperation.

Since 1980 the communities Großenseebach and Heßdorf form the administrative community Heßdorf .
