history

Until the church is planted

In 1315 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Hessedorf". The defining word is probably the personal name Hesso, Hesse . A person of this name can be considered the founder of the settlement. The ministerials of Gründlach were originally fiefdoms in the village . Their fiefdom passed in 1315 to the Lords of Hohenlohe-Brauneck , who donated it to the Bamberg Cathedral Chapter between 1340 and 1364 as an Oblei .

At the end of the 18th century there were 21 properties in Heßdorf. The high court exercised the Bamberg center office Herzogenaurach . The village and township government had the Oblei Heßdorf held the bambergischen cathedral chapter. The landlords were the Bamberg caste office in Herzogenaurach (1 half yard, 1 quarter yard, 1 estate), the Oblei Heßdorf (1 hatch , 5 half hats , 1 third hat , 6 Hofrait , 1 Sölde , 1 mill, 1 house) and the manor Neuenbürg (2 estates) .

In 1803, Heßdorf fell to Prussia through the main state comparison between Prussia and Bavaria . With the Prussian Principality of Bayreuth it came to France in the Peace of Tilsit in 1807 and to Bavaria with the Paris Treaty of 1810 .

As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Hannberg tax district formed in 1811 . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community of Heßdorf was formed, to which Mittel- , Ober- and Untermembach belonged. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and in financial administration to the Erlangen Rent Office . In the voluntary jurisdiction, two properties were subordinate to the Neuenbürg Patrimonial Court (until 1835). On October 1, 1847, the financial management was taken over by the Rentamt Herzogenaurach . From 1862 Heßdorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rent Office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The community originally had an area of 7.454 km².

Incorporations

On July 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Hannberg was incorporated. On May 1, 1978, the dissolved municipality of Hesselberg was added almost completely.

badges and flags

The municipality of Heßdorf has had a coat of arms since 1983.

Coat of arms of Hessdorf
Blazon : Divided , on top in gold a growingblack lion coveredwith a silver sloping bar , reinforcedwithred; split at thebottom, a growing silver spearhead in red in front; at the back divided diagonally five times by black and gold. "

Yellow-black-yellow municipal flag

Justification of the coat of arms: The lion covered with a sloping bar is the coat of arms of the bishopric of Bamberg and reminds of its long reign in Hessdorf. The most important landowner in the village was the cathedral chapter of Bamberg, which owes its property primarily to the Lords of Gründlach-Brauneck. The diagonal division of black and gold is taken from the coat of arms of this noble family . The spit from the Stiebar coat of arms is representative of the many noble families who were wealthy in the municipality, who were wealthy in the municipality from 1511 to 1738. The red spear in the aristocratic coat of arms was changed for heraldic reasons for the municipal coat of arms.
