Röhrach is a district of the municipality of Heßdorf in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The village is located between two pond plates: in the east the Graben, Neu-, Kastenweiher and the Kleine Bischofsweiher , which are fed by the Forstgraben, a left tributary of the Seebach , in the west the Röhracher Weiher, that of the Moorbach, also a left tributary of the Seebach. In the north the Hummelberg rises in a small wooded area, where there is also a sand dump, in the south-west the Eichelberg ( 306  m above sea level ) rises in a wooded area .

history

The place name is derived from an identical field name, which refers to an area overgrown with reeds . The ministerials of Gründlach were originally fiefdoms in the village . Their fiefdom passed in 1315 to the Lords of Hohenlohe-Brauneck , who donated it to the Bamberg Cathedral Chapter between 1340 and 1364 as an Oblei . In 1602 the place consisted of only one courtyard.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 3 properties in Röhrach (1 courtyard, 2 half courtyards). The high court exercised the Bamberg center office Herzogenaurach . The village and community rule and the basic rule of all property had the Oblei Hannberg held the Bamberg cathedral chapter.

As part of the municipal edict, Röhrach was assigned to the Hannberg tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hannberg, founded in 1818 .

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Röhrach was incorporated into the municipality of Heßdorf on July 1, 1972 .

The place was purely Catholic until the beginning of the 20th century and has been parish since 1574 after the birth of Mary (Hannberg) . The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Kilian (Kairlindach) .

The district road ERH 26 crosses the A 3 to Hannberg to state road 2240 (1.6 km southwest) or state road 2259 (0.3 km east), which leads to Röttenbach (2.6 km north) or to Dechsendorf (2 , 3 km southeast).
