The Kraftshofer Forst is a community-free area in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt .

The 12.18 km² large state forest is part of the Sebalder Reichswald east of the Nuremberg districts Neunhof and Kraftshof . In the north, the community-free areas Neunhofer Forst , Kalchreuther Forst and Geschaidt border. The federal highway 2 forms the eastern border with the Erlenstegen forest , at the intersection of which with the A3 motorway running through the area is the junction Nuremberg-North. On the southern edge, north of Nuremberg Airport, is the Nuremberg Golf Club. In the southeast, Buchenbühl protrudes into the area; the Graefenbergbahn from Nuremberg begins here to cross the area in a wide arc from south to east. The Buchenbühl is at 390.8  m above sea level. NN the highest point in the area.

Waters

The Gründlach flows through the Kraftshofer Forst from east to west. The Hirschsprunggraben rises on the eastern slope of the Buchenbühl , which is 390.8  m above sea level. NN highest elevation of the Kraftshofer forest.

Protected areas

In the parts adjacent to Nuremberg Airport, the Kraftshofer Forst belongs to the Kraftshofer Forst landscape protection area ( LSG-00536.14 ).

Worth seeing

The Irrhain is well worth seeing near Kraftshof .
