The Buckenhofer Forest is a forest area near Buckenhof in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt .

The 8.79 km² forest is a part of the Sebalder Reichswald south of Buckenhof , which in turn is part of the Nuremberg Reichswald .

For a long time, a new construction of the state road St 2240 was planned as a southern bypass of Weiher, Uttenreuth and Buckenhof through the Buckenhofer Forest, but in spring 2011 it became known that the planned route at Uttenreuth ran through an area in which several protected species breed (e.g. B. the woodlark). The planning was finally stopped in June 2012 after alternative solutions met with even less enthusiasm.

In the Buckenhofer Forest there is a wild boar enclosure and several wells for drinking water.

There is also a former ammunition depot south of Weiher, which is used as an excavated earth dump and solar park.
