geography
River course
The Hirschsprunggraben is created on the eastern slope of the Buchenbühl, which is 390.8 m above sea level. NN highest elevation of the Kraftshofer forest. On the southern course the trench follows the B 2 and takes up two trenches from the left. The junction Nürnberg Nord of the A3 is underpassed with a twist , with the inclusion of a ditch flowing to the right and with a change of direction to the southwest. After a sudden change of direction to the southeast, the original direction is resumed. Furthermore, in the forest area, the city of Nuremberg is reached in the Ziegelstein district. From there, the Hirschsprunggraben runs through the Kraftshofer Forst landscape protection area ( LSG-00536.14 ).
The ditch divides 150 meters in front of the sports grounds of the HG Nürnberg . The right branch runs almost in a westerly direction north of the sports grounds, receives two tributaries from the right and one from the left and flows along Rathsbergstrasse southwards to the left branch. The left main branch runs southwest, south of the sports area through the Vogelherd forest area, meets the built-up area at the level of the DJK-BFC Nürnberg sports field and crosses under the Graefenbergbahn . Immediately afterwards the river flows through the area Am Anger, a grassy land and village square in common ownership ( Dorfallmende ). Shortly before crossing under Ziegelsteinstrasse, the ditch disappears underground, picks up the right branch there, runs roughly along Andernacher Strasse, already in the Mooshof district , and only comes to the surface west of the buildings. From there, the Hirschsprunggraben is called Bucher Landgraben.
Catchment area
It covers about 5 km² and is largely forested. The watershed in the north runs from the summit of Buchenbühl ( 390.8 m above sea level ) to almost the summit of Haidberg at 398 m above sea level. NHN , the area behind it is drained northwards into the Gründlach . Behind the eastern watershed lies the catchment area of the Pegnitz , drained by Tiefgraben and Langwassergraben .
The two highest peaks are the Buchenbühl and the Haidberg.
