Carugo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6649 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy .
geography
The municipality is located about 14 kilometers southeast of Como and borders directly on the province of Monza and Brianza . In the Carugo area is the Fontana del Guercio , a small nature reserve. Carugo is nestled between the Lambro and Terrò rivers .
traffic
The station has existed on the Milano – Asso railway line since 1879 and also serves the neighboring municipality of Giussano .
