  • In the local Villa Serbelloni has Bellagio Center of the Rockefeller Foundation established. The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is situated on the waterfront at Lake Como.
  • The Hotel Britannia has been empty for years and is deteriorating more and more into a ruin.
  • Also worth seeing are the Romanesque parish church of San Giacomo and
  • the Villa Melzi with its garden and the famous monument by Dante Alighieri and Béatrice.
  • Church of Santissima Annunciata with Polittico
  • Church of San Giovanni Battista in the fraction of San Giovanni

If you want to visit the place from Lugano or Porlezza , you usually use the car ferry that goes from Menaggio and Cadenabbia on the west bank and also serves Varenna on the opposite east bank. Alternatively, you can also use the lakeside roads via Como or Lecco , but this is a detour of over 60 kilometers. The place can also be reached from Erba on a winding mountain road.

Bellagio was the source of inspiration for the Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas .

Also Pliny the Younger estimated the site. A street and the paddle steamer “Plinio” are named after him, which was taken out of service in 1963 but is to be restored by the “Amici del Plinio” committee. In addition, Cosima Wagner was born in Bellagio in 1837 , the daughter of Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner's second wife . Teresio Olivelli (born January 7, 1916 - January 17, 1945 in Hersbruck ), a lecturer and partisan, gold medal for military bravery , was born here (plaque on the house where he was born). The wood carver Antonio Pini, active in Sessa TI and Gandria , was born here.
