Agros ( Greek Αγρός ) in the Limassol district of the Republic of Cyprus is one of the larger villages in the Troodos Mountains on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus with 806 inhabitants (as of October 1, 2011 census) .
It is 1,100 meters above sea level and as a tourist destination it boasts a healthy climate. In Agros rose water , rose oil, rose liqueur and rose wine are produced and for the most part exported.
It differs from other Cypriot villages with a similar population in terms of its infrastructure : hospital, veterinary clinic, retirement home, childcare for the little ones up to two years of age, preschool kindergarten, elementary school, high school and an indoor sports center - measures that have been taken to prevent the out-migration To counteract youth, which could also be stopped.
Attractions
The barn roof church of Metamorphosis , which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Painted Churches in the Troodos area, stands near the village at Palaichori. In it are Byzantine frescoes to be seen.
