Agios Dimitrios ( Greek Άγιος Δημήτριος ) is a municipality in the Limassol district in Cyprus . At the 2011 census it had 54 inhabitants.

The village is known for its pottery, which has been part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2016 .

Location and surroundings

Agios Dimitrios is located in the middle of the island of Cyprus at an altitude of 900 meters, about 54 km southwest of the capital Nicosia , 31 km northwest of Limassol and 36 km northeast of Paphos .

The place is located about 25 km from the Mediterranean Sea in the interior of the island in the Troodos Mountains . A little to the east is the highest mountain on the island, the Olympos . The Nicosia district begins further north . To the east is the Trooditissa Monastery , summer residence of the Bishop of Paphos.

Places in the vicinity are Lemithou in the north, Palaiomylos in the northeast, Troodos in the east, Phini in the southeast and Kaminaria and Treis Elies in the west.
