Akrounta ( Greek Ακρούντα ) is a municipality in the district of Limassol in Cyprus . At the 2011 census it had 455 inhabitants.
Location and surroundings
Akrounta is located in the southern center of the island of Cyprus at an altitude of 144 meters, about 50 km southwest of the capital Nicosia , 8 km northeast of Limassol and 48 km southwest of Larnaka .
The village is located about 7 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast from the interior of the island on the southern edge of the Troodos Mountains . The Amathos River flows east of the village and flows through the Germasogia Reservoir to the southeast .
Places in the vicinity are Dierona in the north, Finikaria in the east, Germasogia in the south, Agios Athanasios in the southwest and Mathikoloni in the west.
