Cernobbio is a town with 6653 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Como in the Lombardy region . It includes the following fractions: Piazza Santo Stefano, Rovenna, Casnedo, Gentrino, Madrona, Mornello, OlzinoStimianico, Toldino, San Giuseppe, Sant'Andrea, Garotto and the mountain districts: Duello, Pievenello, Piazzola, Böcc, Scarone, Alpetto Gombee, Alvegia, Alpe Garzegallo .

geography

Cernobbio is located near the border with Switzerland (about 5 km west) at the mouth of Breggia in the Lago di Como . The city of Como is about 5 km south. In 2005 the municipality was granted city rights.

The neighboring municipalities are Blevio , Como , Maslianico , Moltrasio , Breggia (CH-TI) and Vacallo (CH-TI).

He was brought back to Cernobbio on the evening of January 16, 1945, seriously ill and with obvious signs of torture, and died two days later on January 18, 1945.
