Pianello del Lario is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1062 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in Lombardy .

geography

The municipality is located on the west bank of Lake Como (also: Lario ) about 35 kilometers northeast of Como and is part of the community association Comunità Montana Valli del Lario e del Ceresio . It includes the following fractions: Bellera , Belmonte , Calozzo , Camlago , Crotti , Garuso , Maggiana , Mianico , Nasina , Riva , Saliana , Sant'Anna , Tre Terre . The neighboring communities are: Colico ( LC ), Cremia , Dervio (LC), Dongo , Dorio (LC), Garzeno , Musso . Pianello del Lario borders the province of Lecco in the middle of the lake .
