Albese con Cassano is an Italian commune with 4222 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Como in the Lombardy region .
geography
It is located about 35 km north of Milan and 5 km east of Como. Neighboring communities are Albavilla , Faggeto Lario , Montorfano , Orsenigo and Tavernerio .

- Parish Church of Santa Margherita
- Romanesque Church of San Pietro is a Romanesque style building on a rectangular floor plan with a simple portal surmounted by a lunette window. The leaning bell tower, which is illuminated by two floors with double-arched windows, has always been a symbol of the city. Inside, you can admire the frescoes by Giovanni Giacomo De Magistris.

- Monument to Fabio Casartelli is located south of the parish church in front of the entrance to the primary schools, between Via Don Sturzo and Via Rimembranze and was built in 2000 as part of an international sculpture symposium by the Fabio Casartelli Foundation. Sculptor Bruno Luzzani who also had the stele on the site of the tragic fall on the descent of the Portet d'Aspet (Pyrenees). The monument made of white marble from Garfagnana contains a sundial with the most important dates of the life of the deceased Olympic champion of Barcelona , also on July 18th at 12 o'clock, the tragic fall, a ray of sun goes through a small hole in the vertical part of the monument that projecting the light onto the base.
- Ethnographic and Water Museum (2004) an old, vacant wash house, which was reopened as a museum in 2004 with the ambition to become the center of the country's cultural life. The time spent doing the laundry was also an opportunity for encounters, dialogue, reflections, songs and sharing daily efforts. From this awareness the idea of the collective memory of this social space was born, as evidence of a past that may not have been very far away, but far from the younger generation.
Events
- Village of the Elves , a Christmas event for young people that attracts thousands of people every year. Last but not least, there are classical and modern music concerts, art exhibitions, gymnastics and folk festivals. In addition, a "Fabio Casartelli" cycling mediofondo is usually organized on the 3rd Sunday in July in memory of the late master Fabio Casartelli, who won the gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in cycling.
