San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna is a northern Italian municipality with 991 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Como in the Lombardy region .

San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna is located in Val Cavargna between San Nazzaro Val Cavargna and Cusino near the Swiss border.

It covers an area of ​​10.51  km² and includes six districts between 700 and 900 m above sea level. Attractions

  • San Bartolomeo Church, a large building with a neo-Gothic transept. A wide staircase leads to the facade, which takes up that of the demolished building. Inside there is a beautiful baroque altar made of polychrome marble and two frescoes depicting the Madonna Enthroned with the Baptist and Saint Roch from the 15th century and Saint Anthony of Padua from the 17th century coming out of the houses comes from Vora and Sora. Two paintings depict the Holy Family with Saints Karl Borromeo from 1633 and Saints Antonio Abate, Stefano e Giacomo from 1652. The Como painter Eugenio Rossi enriched the church with stained glass windows in the apse with facts from the Old Testament and on 1963–1964 the facade, the kingship of the Virgin .
