Ashleigh Aston Moore (* 30th September 1981 as Ashley Rogers in Sunnyvale , California , United States ; † 10. December 2007 in Richmond , British Columbia , Canada ) was a Canadian actress .

Life

Ashleigh Aston Moore attended a private school in Sunnyvale through third grade, which she left to devote herself to acting. From this point, it was from her mother home schooled . This supported her daughter's acting career, which Ashleigh began to be interested in at the age of four.

After various appearances in commercials, Moore played her first role in the Canadian television film You Lie in 1992 . From 1992 she was seen in all three seasons of the television series The Odyssey . For her performance in her second TV movie Family of Strangers , she received a nomination in 1994 as Best Supporting Actress for the Gemini Award .

Moore had her biggest role in 1995 in the film Now and Then - Then and Now , for which the actress had to gain about 10 kg. For her portrayal of Chrissy DeWitt she was nominated in 1996 together with Thora Birch , Gaby Hoffmann and Christina Ricci for a Young Artist Award in the category Best Cast in a Feature Film. In 1995 she also received the YTV Achievement Award . This was followed by other appearances in films and television films as well as guest roles in television series.

In 1997 she starred in an episode of the television series A Touch of Heaven , then she interrupted her acting career to study at East Carolina University to become a teacher. Her last role, besides small appearances in student films, was in two episodes of G vs E in 1999 and 2000 .

Moore died on December 10, 2007 at the age of 26 of complications from pneumonia.
