Argegno is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 679 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Lombardy in the province of Como .

geography

The municipality is located almost exactly in the middle between Como and Menaggio on the west bank of Lake Como, right at the foot of the Val d'Intelvis and includes the fraction Sant'Anna. The neighboring municipalities are Brienno , Colonno , Dizzasco , Lezzeno , Nesso , Pigra and Schignano .

The historic town center is cut through by the Telo river, which flows into the lake . The mountain village of Lanzo d'Intelvi on the Swiss border, about 15 kilometers away, can be reached via a road that runs through the entire Val d'Intelvi .

Infrastructure

  • A cable car leads to Pigra , which is situated on a high relief . The view there extends from the northern foothills to Nesso, which is far on the southern bank .
